Our own studio site, built and run in-house: services, monthly plans, long-form insights, the Ember Wire news briefs and guides to the Global Goals, in light and dark themes, on WordPress with as few plugins as we could manage.
- Client: Emberoot (our own site)
- Live at: emberoot.com
- Timeline: Built in October 2026 and still growing
- Services used: Websites, Digital marketing
The challenge
A studio site has to prove the work it sells. Ours needed to explain seven kinds of work clearly, publish articles and news often, load fast, keep visitors’ data private by default, and be easy for us to change without breaking the design.
What we did
- Built on the Newspaper theme with its page builder, plus a small set of our own plugins for the parts no theme setting covers, so updates to other software never overwrite our changes.
- Light and dark themes, a language switcher, and our own cookie banner. Google Analytics waits until a visitor allows it.
- Pages for each service, monthly plans, a written-scope process and a booking route for a first call.
- An insights library, the Ember Wire news briefs and guides to the UN Global Goals.
- A library of saved sections and written guides, so new pages can be built from parts that already match.
- Search and AI readiness: page titles and descriptions, Search Console through Site Kit, a Markdown copy of every page and an llms.txt index.
- Security built in: a hidden sign-in address, a captcha that needs no outside service, login limits and security headers.
- Case studies, like this one, for the work we do.

The result
A site we can change ourselves, without a developer queue. It was checked signed out on phones and desktops before launch, and it sets no analytics cookies until a visitor says yes.
