Is this a job?
No. You join as an independent contractor and choose which roles to accept. There is no fee to join and no obligation to take work.
How is pay decided?
Each role comes with a fee or rate agreed in writing before you start. Emberoot keeps a small coordination share to cover finding the work, scoping, managing it and handling contracts and billing. The share is shown in every role offer.
When do I get paid?
Your fee for a milestone is paid soon after the client pays for that milestone. The timing is written into your role offer.
Will my profile be public?
Only if you agree in writing. Profiles show a display name, photo, skills and selected work, never your contact details. You can change or remove it at any time.
Can I work with clients I meet through Emberoot directly?
Please talk to us first. For 12 months after a project, clients we introduced are worked with through Emberoot, and a fair introduction fee can usually be agreed if a client wants to hire you directly.
