This notice explains what personal data the Emberoot website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. The website is run by Emberoot Private Limited, a company registered in India with its registered office in Nashik, Maharashtra (“Emberoot”, “we”).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry. The contact form asks for your name, email address, the service you are interested in and your message. You can also tell us your company or website, where you are based and a rough budget. We use these details only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to prepare and carry out a project with you.
When you browse. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run the site securely. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on this website. The fonts are served from our own website. A cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings. Details are in our cookie policy.
Your theme choice. If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your own browser so the site remembers it. It is not sent to us.
Who processes your data
- Hostinger, our hosting provider, stores the website, its database and any enquiries you send.
- Email services we use to receive and answer your enquiry.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any project that follows, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that we delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data protection law (for example India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data) gives you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access it, correct it, have it erased and withdraw your consent. To use any of these rights, or to raise a concern, write to us through the contact page and we will respond as the law requires.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. The site stores your light or dark theme choice in your own browser, and our consent tool stores your cookie choices. These are needed for the site to work as you asked and do not track you. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or other optional tools in future, they will only run after you agree in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the “Manage consent” link. The cookie banner lists what is used.
Applications to join our network
If you apply to join the Emberoot network of specialists, we collect the details you send (name, email, skills, location, links to your work and anything else you choose to share) to assess your application and match you to projects. We keep applications for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. A public profile is only created with your written consent, and you can ask for it to be changed or removed at any time.
Visitors outside India
We work with clients around the world. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR or UK GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and move your personal data, to object to how we use it and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Similar rights exist under other laws, such as the UAE’s data protection law. Our legal bases are your consent (for optional cookies and newsletters), steps you ask us to take before a contract (for enquiries) and our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
International transfers
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, and our team may work from different countries. Where personal data moves between countries, we use providers with appropriate safeguards and share only what is needed.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
