A personal site for Emberoot’s founder: a portfolio, a business library and a set of daily puzzles, built so one person can run it from the WordPress dashboard.
- Client: Sarang Kasar (Emberoot’s founder)
- Live at: sarang.pro
- Timeline: October 2026
- Services used: Websites, Strategy
The challenge
The site had to show work, experience and writing in one place, stay quick on phones, and be editable without a developer. Every page needed to open in a visual editor, and nothing could depend on paid page-builder add-ons or outside form services.
What we did
- Built on WordPress with the free Elementor builder and the Hello Elementor theme, plus one custom plugin that adds more than 70 site-specific Elementor widgets.
- Experience, projects, skills and credentials are managed as simple lists in the dashboard and appear on the pages and on a printable CV automatically.
- An insights library with filters by topic and reading time, 18 in-depth business case studies with one-page summaries, and daily word and number puzzles.
- A call booking widget that shows open times in the visitor’s own time zone, with no outside calendar account.
- Security built in: a hidden sign-in address, a captcha that needs no outside service, login limits and security headers.
The result
Measured with Google PageSpeed (Lighthouse 13.5) on the home page, mobile, before and after the October performance round:
- Performance: 88 to 94
- Accessibility: 91 to 97
- Largest Contentful Paint: 3.7 s to 2.6 s
- Desktop after the round: Performance 98, Accessibility 97, Best practices 100, SEO 100
